La Comunidad China celebra su el Año Nuevo según su calendario lunar, ya que para ellos el año nuevo comienza con la primer Luna Nueva del año solar y los festejos culminan 15 días después, con la luna llena. Según el zodiaco Chino el 2009 corresponde al año del Buey.
