Autoridades del sistema de aguas de la Ciudad de México (SACM) asistieron a la inauguración de este nuevo pozo, ya que el anterior, el cual se ubicaba en Avenida Periférico entre las calles de Av. México 1968 y Munich 1972 en la colonia Olímpica había concluido su vida útil.
